I am a Senior currently enrolled in the Durham School of the Arts Game Design pathway. I hope to one day use the skills I learn in this course to combine the concentrations of art and technology into a medium that pushed the boundaries of design and engineering. I have an interest in entertainment throughout all of this and hope to incorporate these changes into the field of game design or human product design.
Experience
Throughout my high school career, I have gained experience in multiple design applications. I have used each of the following programs multiple times during my studies, and I have also included a summary of what I have used that application for.
3ds Max: 3ds Max is the program I have learned to use for most of my 3D modeling and animation. My first major project in 3Ds Max was the Sky Tour video I made freshman year to showcase what I had learned. My most recent use of 3Ds Max has involved using bones to create animation in mesh models. My most recent work includes the 3D model of a piano that can be found on my individual work page, and the 3D model of a set of candles that can be found there as well.
Adobe Photoshop: I have used Photoshop mainly for generation of retro game assets like my work on The Snakes Strike Back: Survival. I have also used Photoshop to assemble larger projects like the game board for a class project. My most recent work with Photoshop has been the game board from this year’s class game project.
Adobe Illustrator: I have used Illustrator the most out of any program. I have used Illustrator on projects that range from a rendering of Battlestar Galactica's Viper ship, to career info graphics displaying my interest in the Game Design industry. My most recent work in Illustrator has been the creation of some infographics concerning the careers and legal systems of the game industry.
Adobe Audition: I have used Audition to edit multiple scripts for various commercials, create my own sound effects for Foley work, and edit soundtracks for other videos. My most recent showcase of this work has been my Sniper Cut scene in which all the sound effects in it were made by me.
Adobe Premiere: I have used Premiere to create music videos, edit other videos, and create a personal show reel. The most recent of example of my work in Premiere has been my personal show reel in which I gathered images from throughout my time in Game Design and edited them into a video for this portfolio.
